A/Prof Bernard Shiu is the Clinical Director of Banksia Medical Centre. He was the winner of the RACGP Victoria GP of the Year Award 2020, and served as Deputy Chair of RACGP VIC Faculty between 2020–2022. He is currently an examiner and supervisor for RACGP and has been invited as an expert member of various official DHHS and scientific organisations, including the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Task Force.

His main clinical and research interests are mental health in children and men's health with chronic disease. He has vast experience in teaching medical students and junior doctors.

Outside of medicine, A/Prof Shiu is a keen musician — a member of the Australian Doctor's Orchestra and the Geelong Symphony Orchestra. You will also find him cycling around the Bellarine Peninsula on weekends.

Dr Deepa is a specialist GP who completed her GP training in the UK before moving to Australia in 2021. She has over 10 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK before deciding to pursue a career in General Practice in 2014.

She enjoys treating patients of all ages and appreciates the diversity General Practice provides. Her areas of special interest include antenatal shared care with Geelong University Hospital, contraception management, Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTOP), pap smears, menopause management, and chronic disease management.

Dr Genevieve Hamilton started out as a genetics research scientist before returning to study Medicine, graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2011. She moved to Geelong for a temporary training post in 2014 — and never left.

She has since become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and absolutely loves the variety of patients she sees in General Practice — from newborns to teenagers, and grown-ups to seniors.

Dr Chris Chau is board certified in Family Medicine in both Hong Kong and Australia. He has worked in acute hospitals for many years across adult, geriatric and emergency medicine, choosing to focus on preventive and family medicine related to adolescent, maternal & child, and elderly health.

Having obtained a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins and a Fellowship in Public Health Medicine in the UK, Dr Chau is experienced in communicable diseases and chronic disease management. He is also an accredited provider of the Positive Parenting Program for teens.

Dr Natasha Nogueira arrived in Australia in 2015 and obtained her Fellowship of General Practice (FRACGP). She sees all genders and ages with a special interest in women's health, men's health, paediatrics and obstetrics. She also performs IUD insertions and Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTOP).

Natasha enjoys doing home visits — patients feel more relaxed staying home when unwell. Her compassion earned a finalist nomination for The Geelong Advertiser's Best GP in Geelong in 2019.

Dr Narelle Milward completed her medical degree at Monash University with Honours in 1999. After training in Geelong, Colac and Bannockburn she completed her GP Fellowship with the RACGP.

Growing up on a farm in the Western District, Narelle has enjoyed returning to the region to provide GP care over the past 15 years. She enjoys providing holistic care to whole families, working with young people and women's health.

Dr Ellie Bowditch grew up in rural northeast Victoria and completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine with Honours, followed by a postgraduate MD at the University of Melbourne in 2017. She completed her internship and surgical residency at Geelong Hospital.

Her areas of interest include chronic disease management, geriatrics, emergency medicine and ophthalmology. She completed her FRACGP and has returned to work in Geelong.

Dr Maria Neagle has worked as a GP since 2002, having studied at the University of Melbourne. She gained her FRACGP in 2003 and completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 2023 she completed a Certificate of Practical Dermoscopy and in 2025 completed further Mental Health training as a Medicare-accredited GP provider of Focussed Psychological Strategies.

She is currently the GP for Foundation 61 House of Hope, a not-for-profit organisation assisting women recovering from severe substance use disorders. Maria has a keen interest in lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management, behaviours of addiction, women's and children's health, mental health counselling and care for the ageing.
